1. The craftsmanship of my sculpture is well done. My bamboo steamer was made from a slab. I took the time to make sure it was smooth and realistic. I used a needle tool to make the rough texture on the cake. It took a while because i wanted to make sure it looked realistic.
2. the most difficult part of this project was the dumpling and making sure it ended up smooth and not wet and sticky.
3. my color choices worked really well together. I made sure that the colors were realistic and not too much of one vivid color but different values of a realistic color.
4. my sculpture is somewhat interesting from all angles. the dumpling is interesting from the bottom because it is hallow. the other pieces are not so interesting from all sides
5. the difference between making something 3D and 2D is that sketches don't show what the actual piece will look like ..in a 3D piece
6. i created textures in my sculpture by using the rib tool to smooth out the bamboo steamer and i used the needle tool to create the rough cake texture.
7. I do think that my sculpture does look like the real food. i especially think the strawberry on the cake and the dumpling looks the most realistic.
8. if i did this project again i would make more dumplings and make the cake and bamboo steamer bigger.
printmaking
1. the registration and carving of my print was good
prismacolor final
candy prismacolor drawing
watercolor
I enjoyed watercolor pencils a lot. I liked how it was very easy to blend colors
prismacolor
I found that I like Prismacolor pencils the best out of pastel sticks, pastel pencils, and watercolor pencils. I have more control to add a wider range of colors and details.
pastel
I did not like pastel sticks and pencils because colors are was easily lost when blended. It also can get messy and smudgy very easily.

still life
I arranged my composition by drawing the outline of each shape before adding value. i started with filling in the darkest spots of the still life and then worked to the lighter parts. I used elements like high contrast and value. the composition overall was successful. in my still life I used a wide range of values from the darkest shadows behind the A and a medium shade on the bottle and ground and then white. my knowledge of value and practice studies contributed to my piece by being able to create a wide contrast in value.
